Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacy Tech - Pharmacy Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Nights at a leading Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform sterile compounding of medications and IV preparations
• Maintain PTCB or NHA certification throughout assignment
• Ensure eligibility for PhT registration in Iowa
• Utilize Cerner pharmacy system for medication management and documentation
• Provide inpatient pharmacy services and support
• Operate automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis or Omnicell
• Work night shift schedule from 09:00 PM to 07:00 AM
• Complete Trinity Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training
• Maintain current immunizations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
• Complete required tuberculosis screening via 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing
• Pass color vision testing requirements
• Complete specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards and testing
• Complete required background checks and screening processes
• Adhere to Trinity health system policies and procedures
• Complete annual fit testing for respiratory protection
• Maintain professional licensing and certificate verification
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
