Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to intermediate population sub-specialized with neurological and medical intermediate patients
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio on PCU unit with maximum census of 24 patients
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Float to other intermediate areas and critical care units as required
• Work 3 weekends every 6 weeks (6 weekend shifts between Saturday and Sunday)
• Utilize Epic charting system and PYXIS for medication management
• Maintain required certifications including ACLS, BCLS, and NIH
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and external CPAP/BIPAP
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Follow isolation precautions and use rapid response teams
• Complete 32 hours of orientation including 8-hour computer class and two unit shifts
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Adhere to call-off policy and fatigue policy (no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week)
• Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations with patients and staff
• Complete lab testing within 48 hours after signing
• Participate in self-scheduling system balanced by staff approval
• Wear navy blue and white scrub combinations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
