Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive obstetrical nursing care for patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratio in a high-volume unit averaging 20 births in 24 hours and 30-40 admits
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Work in obstetrical triage unit performing patient screening, routine outpatient procedures, antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
• Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication protocols
• Float as needed to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit and affiliate hospitals
• Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Work minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) and infant/neonatal arrest procedures
• Interpret telemetry and provide triage services for obstetrical patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and maintain competency in high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
