Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care • Maintain 2:1 patient ratios in a high-volume unit averaging 400-600 births per month • Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care • Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures • Conduct obstetrical patient triage and screening prior to admission • Perform routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration • Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication methods for documentation • Float to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit and other affiliate facilities as needed • Complete OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) and telemetry interpretation • Respond to neonatal arrest situations and provide LDRP care • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 • Work minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Precept and orient new staff members to the unit as needed • Maintain current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months • Maintain valid NC or Compact nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
