Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical services as a Certified Surgical Technician supporting multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures
• Demonstrate experience with all ages in inpatient trauma and scrub procedures
• Apply aseptic technique across various surgical specialties including ENT, General, Orthopedic, Urology, Endoscopic/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Thoracic, Neurosurgery, and Gynecology
• Maintain 3-4 rating proficiency in Ophthalmology with strong capabilities in Vascular/Neuro and Robotics
• Operate and assist with DaVinci robotic surgical equipment
• Handle daily caseload of up to 80 cases across 22 operating rooms
• Participate in specialized procedures including organ harvesting, transplant, bariatrics, plastics, and total joint procedures
• Work 3x12-hour day shifts with potential 1-2 call shifts per two-week period
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill sets
• Work weekend shifts and 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team
• Maintain current BLS certification and NBSTA certification
• Complete required non-billable training modules pre-start and annually (8-10 hours for acute care roles)
• Maintain valid state licensure or compact state license
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references from within the past 12 months
• Complete all compliance documentation and testing within 48 hours after contract signing
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
