Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical patients with various diagnoses
• Maintain current BCLS certification throughout assignment
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6-7 during night shifts
• Administer and monitor Heparin and Insulin drips as required
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Utilize EPIC documentation system, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
• Pass required EKG test for Med Surg Tele specialty
• Float to similar units at least once per week as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Report to work during mass casualty or disaster situations as required
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation program
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact license accepted)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Complete required flu vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring navy scrubs
• Complete all required lab testing within 48 hours after signing
• Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Float between hospital units or affiliate hospitals based on census and skill sets
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
