Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician / Radiology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Nuclear Medicine Procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Operate state of the art Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras, probe and computer systems, film processors, survey meters, and other technical supportive devices
• Work 4 days x 10 hours schedule (0630-1700 or 0815-1845)
• Provide on-call coverage after department closes until open (approximately 7 days per month)
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures for adults and geriatric patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Complete nuclear cardiology procedures including exercise/rest studies, persantine infusion, and pharmacological stress testing
• Conduct various imaging studies including bone scans, brain scans, liver imaging, HIDA scans, PET scans, and gastric emptying studies
• Perform specialized procedures such as sestamibi parathyroid scans, cerebral blood flow studies, and I-123 uptake scans
• Handle drawing venous blood and starting/maintaining IVs
• Ensure proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
• Maintain isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE
• Float between facilities including affiliate hospitals as required
• Maintain current BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
• Complete Basic Cardiac Monitoring class within 4 months of hire
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable, up to 8 hours)
• Maintain registration with either NMTCB or ARRT within 6 months of hire
• Work with interdisciplinary support teams including radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
