Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sterile Processing Tech - Sterile Processing Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Clean, prepare, sterilize and store instruments from across the health system
• Prepare case carts for the OR
• Work primarily in decontamination with minimal tray assembly duties
• Process instruments for 18 Surgical ORs, 2 L&D ORs, cath lab, and multiple clinics
• Handle instruments from multiple vendors including Stryker, Zimmer, Medtronic, Depuy, and Aesculap
• Maintain required certification (CRCST or CSPDT)
• Perform manual cleaning and high-level disinfection procedures
• Operate washers and sterilizers effectively
• Apply proper aseptic technique throughout all processes
• Organize and place instruments on trays with proper labeling
• Select appropriate wrapping materials and follow sterilization wrapping procedures
• Reprocess endoscopes and various scopes including bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, and EGD scopes
• Document equipment processing and maintain accurate records
• Support multiple surgical specialties including robotics, cardiac, orthopedics, and trauma procedures
• Monitor biological and chemical indicators for sterilization validation
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work swing shift with weekend rotations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
