Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care services as a Medical Assistant in acute care setting • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Maintain valid OR state licensure • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years • Complete required compliance documentation and certifications • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Assist with patient activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and repositioning • Perform vital sign monitoring including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations • Operate medical equipment including glucometers, pulse oximetry, and electronic vital sign equipment • Assist with specimen collection including urine and stool samples • Provide wound care and pressure injury prevention • Maintain proper isolation precautions and PPE protocols • Document patient care activities and report changes in patient condition • Stock supplies and maintain clean equipment • Follow proper body mechanics for patient transfers and positioning
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
