Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care - Patient Care Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform room turnover and maintain cleanliness of surgical areas, equipment, and patient transportation devices
• Perform decontamination of instrumentation and equipment needed for surgical cases
• Apply basic knowledge of sterile technique and infection control procedures
• Assist with set up of surgical suites
• Assist with patient transfers and positioning with OR staff support
• Assist with obtaining and returning surgical instruments and equipment
• Stock cores and rooms with supplies while maintaining appropriate par levels
• Return unused supplies to appropriate storage areas
• Handle communication within the OR including answering telephones and relaying messages
• Transport and escort surgical patients and their families
• Transport equipment and specimens to appropriate departments
• Clean and disinfect OR equipment including monitors and oxygen tanks
• Set up and troubleshoot OR equipment
• Perform case cart set-up and stock sterile supplies
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Assist with positioning of anesthetized patients
• Transport blood products, equipment, and supply items
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in WA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
