Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Med Surg Tele unit with 1:4 patient ratios (1:5 on weekends) • Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring • Provide care for neurological patients including TIA/stroke, epilepsy monitoring, and neurosurgical patients • Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams when necessary • Perform peripheral line care and management • Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and manage oxygen tanks • Provide non-invasive airway management • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Document patient care using EPIC electronic health record system • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, IV Teams, Respiratory Services, and other support services • Work with patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes • Accept admissions from ED, ICU, and PACU • Operate special equipment including Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Complete 12 hours of orientation training • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience • Adhere to facility dress code requirements for licensed nursing personnel
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
