Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for medical/surgical and neurology telemetry patients with 1:4 patient ratios during days/nights and 1:5 on weekends • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions • Care for patients with neurological conditions including TIA/stroke, trauma, epilepsy, and post-neurosurgical patients • Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams when necessary • Perform peripheral line care and management • Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks • Provide non-invasive airway management • Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Document patient care using EPIC electronic health record system • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy • Work closely with patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS certification • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid compact nursing license • Comply with dress code requirements for licensed nursing personnel • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
