Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services for pediatric patients including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults
• Maintain current RRT, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Perform pediatric critical care respiratory procedures including extubation and intubation assistance
• Manage airway placement and suctioning (nasal, oral, ETT, NT)
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Operate and troubleshoot various ventilators including Draeger V800, VN800, and LTV 1200
• Administer oxygen therapy through multiple delivery methods (HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, trach collar)
• Utilize high flow nasal cannula equipment including Optiflow Jr and Airvo 2
• Perform weaning from mechanical ventilation and manage bubble CPAP
• Collect sputum specimens and provide comprehensive respiratory care
• Work weekend shifts as required, generally every other weekend
• Follow block scheduling requirements
• Complete 24 hours of orientation training
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Float between sister facilities as assigned
• Maintain valid compact state licensure
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
