Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services in PICU/NICU settings
• Maintain current BLS, RRT, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Perform pediatric critical care respiratory procedures including extubation and intubation assistance
• Manage airway placement and suctioning (nasal, oral, ETT, NT)
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Operate various ventilation equipment including mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula
• Work with specialized equipment including Draeger V800/VN800 ventilators, LTV 1200, Optiflow Jr, and Airvo 2
• Troubleshoot high pressure alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Collect sputum specimens and provide oxygen therapy using various delivery methods
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Work weekend shifts as required (generally every other weekend)
• Follow block scheduling requirements
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide care for patients across all age groups from neonates to adults
• Maintain valid state compact license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
