Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in PICU/NICU settings
• Maintain current BLS, RRT, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Perform pediatric critical care respiratory procedures including extubation and intubation assistance
• Manage airway placement and suctioning for nasal and oral airways
• Conduct tracheostomy care and management
• Operate various ventilation equipment including hand held, heated, trach collar, bag and mask, ET Tube systems
• Provide High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy and oxygen tank management
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and Bubble CPAP systems
• Troubleshoot high pressure alarms and perform weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Operate specialized ventilators including Draeger V800, VN800, and LTV 1200
• Utilize HFNC equipment such as Optiflow Jr and Airvo 2
• Perform sputum specimen collection and ETT/NT suctioning
• Provide care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
• Work weekend shifts generally every other weekend on variable schedule
• Follow block scheduling requirements as assigned
• Complete 24 hours of orientation training
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float between sister facilities as required
• Maintain compact state licensure
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
