Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Mission Hills, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ICU-level nursing care in PCU unit with 1:3 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA Fire Card certifications
• Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Float between facilities within skillset as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage patients with diagnoses including sepsis, MI, stroke, COVID, CHF, open heart, and trauma
• Provide care for post-MI patients and manage IV insulin protocols
• Administer and monitor PCA pumps and manage surgical drains
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Provide feeding tube care and management
• Manage pre/post hemodialysis care for renal failure patients
• Administer blood products safely
• Manage peripheral lines, PICC lines, and start/maintain IVs
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Provide care for CVA and traumatic brain injury patients
• Care for ventilated patients and manage chest tubes
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula
• Interpret arterial blood gases and manage various oxygen delivery methods
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Implement appropriate isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of ICU experience
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Use facility-provided communication devices as required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
