Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technologist duties in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting • Maintain current BLS certification and obtain NBSTSA or NCCT certification as preferred • Demonstrate proficiency in orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgical procedures • Assist with trauma surgical cases as required • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Work 4x10 hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Maintain valid state licensure throughout assignment duration • Perform cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and endovascular procedures • Demonstrate aseptic technique and maintain sterile field during procedures • Handle surgical instruments and equipment processing according to facility standards • Follow universal protocol and time-out procedures for patient safety • Maintain laser safety and radiation safety protocols • Perform specimen handling and labeling according to facility requirements • Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control measures • Complete wound care and dressing changes as needed • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules to agency • Comply with facility dress code and professional standards
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
