Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Stepdown to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Petoskey, MI. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiovascular patients including those with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology conditions
• Utilize clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions
• Care for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemakers
• Provide post-operative care for open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op)
• Monitor and interpret EKG readings and cardiac rhythms
• Participate in the care of patients involved in national clinical trials
• Float to similar units as assigned
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Maintain valid Michigan nursing license
• Complete skills checklist within one year of application
• Adhere to strict attendance policy requirements
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Be available for possible on-call duties
• Collaborate with leadership, medical staff, and colleagues to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
