Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as an ICU Registered Nurse with 1:2 patient ratios • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications • Care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions including acute kidney injury, sepsis, stroke, and post-surgical complications • Manage ventilated patients and provide advanced respiratory support • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips • Perform arterial line management and interpret arterial blood gases • Provide care for patients requiring ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT therapies • Manage central lines, PICC lines, and assist with invasive procedures • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals within the state as required • Work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid California RN license • Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and support services • Manage patients with multiple organ dysfunction and failure • Perform phlebotomy and maintain IV access • Provide post-cardiac surgery and post-neurosurgery patient care • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
