Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading Hospital in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for neonates and infants in Level 3/4 NICU setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Perform charge nurse duties including staffing oversight, patient assignments, and unit management
• Attend high-risk deliveries as required
• Run multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate interdisciplinary care
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Manage specialized NICU equipment including ventilators, Alaris pumps, and monitoring systems
• Provide care for premature infants >28 weeks gestation and term infants requiring medical care
• Float to maternity and MBU units as needed based on skill set
• Float between sister facilities including Milwaukie, Newberg, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
• Work variable and rotating weekend schedules including every 3rd weekend
• Participate in on-call/standby coverage when not needed on unit
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Maintain valid state nursing license
• Complete specialized NICU procedures including IV management, feeding support, and developmental care
• Manage neonatal conditions including respiratory distress syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Provide patient and family education and breastfeeding support
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
