Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy services using linear accelerators with 2 therapists per linac ratio
• Perform external beam therapy and electron beam therapy treatments
• Utilize IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) techniques
• Conduct CT simulation procedures
• Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient positioning and verification
• Execute chart checks and treatment planning verification
• Manage care for patients with all cancer diagnoses including adult and geriatric populations
• Provide specialized treatments including SBRT and dynamic procedures
• Operate specialized equipment including custom molds, shields, and positioning devices
• Perform tumor localization and field shaping procedures
• Manage approximately 50 scheduled treatments daily across 2 treatment rooms
• Handle emergency cases and utilize rapid response protocols when needed
• Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy procedures
• Maintain radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions
• Document treatments and patient information using Epic charting system
• Operate crash cart and defibrillator equipment when necessary
• Utilize patient lift and transfer devices including hoyer lifts and positioning aids
• Work with prostate cancer patients including seed and fiducial marker cases
• Maintain current ARRT registration, BLS certification, and state licensure
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
