Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide outpatient speech language pathology services for adult and geriatric patients • Conduct speech language evaluations and assessments using non-evaluative screening tools • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders • Provide therapy for dysarthria, dysphagia, voice disorders, and fluency issues • Work with patients with CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, and nervous system disorders • Utilize alternative and augmentative communication devices and communication boards • Implement compensatory strategies and functional maintenance programs • Conduct patient and family education sessions • Perform reassessments and discharge planning • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Complete modified barium swallow studies when needed • Provide care for patients with laryngectomy and hearing impairments • Develop memory aides and oral motor therapy programs • Address mental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders affecting communication • Complete SLP evaluation coding for Medicare A and Medicare B • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide in-service training • Maintain current BLS certification and state licensure • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Float to affiliate hospitals as needed • Complete 40 hours of orientation training
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
