Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician / Radiology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform nuclear medicine scans including bone scans, HIDA scans, lung scans, and PET scans • Execute specialized procedures including gastric emptying, MUGA scan, 3-phase bone scans, cerebral blood flow studies, liver flow and imaging, DTPA aerosol studies, renal flow and function tests, thyroid uptakes and cancer surveys, tumor localization studies, and SPECT imaging • Conduct myocardial imaging including pharmacological stress and thallium stress tests • Operate and maintain GE nuclear medicine equipment • Draw venous blood and start/maintain peripheral IVs • Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials safely • Maintain isolation precautions and infection control protocols • Document patient care and procedures using Epic charting system • Utilize NUCTRAC system for ordering doses and pharmaceuticals • Provide care to patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Respond to on-call requirements within 30 minutes during assigned Saturday/Sunday shifts • Float to affiliate medical centers as needed based on census and staffing requirements • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and ongoing training modules • Maintain current NMTCB certification • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required • Adhere to facility dress code wearing royal blue scrubs • Complete required compliance documentation within 48 hours of assignment start • Provide supervision and leadership when required • Follow fatigue policy limitations of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
