Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to neonatal patients in a level 3 or 4 NICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Care for premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestation and surgical infants with various diagnoses
• Manage patients requiring therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and hypoxic injury treatment
• Operate specialized NICU equipment including Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Servo Vents, HFOV, and Baby Leo
• Utilize Alaris IV pumps and Med Fusion systems for medication administration and feeding management
• Perform care for patients with UAC/UVC lines, PCLs, Broviac catheters, tracheostomies, and ostomies
• Provide ventilator management including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modalities
• Manage oxygen delivery systems and perform dysrhythmia interpretation
• Administer IV vasopressors and perform central line/implanted line care
• Place and manage oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes and provide various feeding methods
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal care as needed
• Float to pediatrics, PICU, or nursery units caring for infants up to 12 months of age
• Document patient care using Epic charting system and SBAR communication methods
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 for 36 hours per week
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and required pre-start modules
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Adhere to self-scheduling requirements based on unit needs
• Comply with weekend requirements of 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
• Follow fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
