Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to medical, surgical, and telemetry patients
• Float between multiple medical, surgical, and telemetry units within the centralized resource nursing pool
• Work at three separate campuses including main campus, orthopedic hospital, and memorial hospital
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 with flexibility based on organizational needs
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry monitoring
• Perform peripheral line care and management
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
• Participate in rapid response team activities
• Care for patients with COVID-19 when required
• Assist with caring for inpatient holds in the emergency department
• Work storm team and/or hurricane team assignments during catastrophic events
• Report to work during mass casualty events or disasters as required
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 shifts
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maintain current BLS certification with ACLS preferred
• Accept floating assignments with 2 hours notice before shift start
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with facility dress code requiring navy scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
