Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to patients using Varian machines
• Treat 20-30 patients per day
• Perform tumor localization and external beam therapy procedures
• Conduct IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging for treatment verification
• Create and implement custom molds and custom shields
• Perform block cutting and use compensation filters
• Calculate appropriate radiation doses for treatments
• Operate Pinnacle (Philips) and Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning systems
• Use B-Mode Acquisition targeting techniques
• Apply portal cast, wedges, and other treatment accessories
• Maintain current BLS and ARRT certifications
• Document treatments using Epic charting system
• Follow radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions
• Assist with lift/transfer devices when moving patients
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Provide care for young adult, middle adult, and older adult patients
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain valid state licensure and certifications
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
