Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery including antepartum, intrapartum, and high-risk pregnancy monitoring
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and perform sterile vaginal examinations
• Circulate and scrub for C-sections in OR suite environment
• Perform fetal heart monitoring for laboring patients
• Work through PACU providing care for patients receiving general or regional anesthesia
• Provide interoperative care for pre, inter, and post C-section patients
• Assist with emergency procedures including D&C and emergent hysterectomy
• Perform newborn care role at delivery
• Float to postpartum unit and provide couplet care for mothers and newborns when needed
• Work in triage area assessing incoming patients
• Maintain required certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, and NRP
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work every other weekend as required
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Maintain current California RN license
• Obtain LA fire card within 30 days of assignment
• Complete compliance documentation and background requirements
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
