Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in medical, surgical, and telemetry units
• Float between multiple medical/surgical floors and affiliate hospitals as assigned by CNRO
• Care for patients held in the Emergency Department who are inpatients
• Maintain 1:6 patient ratios with flexibility based on organizational needs
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Use PYXIS medication management system
• Implement SBAR communication protocols
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 shifts
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Manage patients requiring nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Implement appropriate isolation precautions
• Utilize rapid response teams when needed
• Care for patients with COVID-19 as required
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments
• Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Obtain ACLS certification (preferred)
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
• Comply with navy scrub uniform requirements
• Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
