Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Med Surg Tele unit with ED holding experience
• Maintain current ACLS and BCLS certifications
• Complete IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36-hour minimum weekly requirement
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Float as needed to similar units within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Provide care for general surgery and medical telemetry patients
• Manage cardiac telemetry and medical telemetry patients
• Care for patients with various diagnoses requiring medical intervention or surgical procedures
• Complete required compliance documentation within 48 hours after signing
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring navy blue scrubs
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact license accepted)
• Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
