Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for high-risk labor and delivery patients including preterm labor, hypertension, multiples, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, fetal anomalies, IUFD, diabetes • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications • Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries • Assist with vaginal deliveries and special procedures including D&C, cervical cerclage, and version procedures • Use external fetal monitoring (EFM) and recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns • Administer antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy • Provide care for neonates and adults with patient ratios of 1 or 2 • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float between facilities within the state as required • Work 3 out of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid California nursing license • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
