Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients in a high-risk unit • Care for patients with various pregnancy diagnoses including preterm labor, hypertension, multiples, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, fetal anomalies, IUFD, pyleo, and diabetes • Maintain patient ratios of 1 or 2 patients during days, nights, and weekends • Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries • Assist with vaginal deliveries and special procedures including D&C, cerclage, and version • Use external fetal heart monitoring and recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns • Administer antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Maintain current certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate • Float between all facilities within the state as required • Work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
