Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for labor and delivery patients including high-risk antepartum cases
• Monitor and interpret external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries
• Circulate for cesarean sections
• Administer antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Assist with special procedures including cervical cerclage, D&C, and version procedures
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses including preterm labor, hypertension, multiples, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, fetal anomalies, IUFD, diabetes
• Maintain patient ratios of 1 or 2 patients during days, nights, and weekends
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Maintain required certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually
• Float between facilities within the state as assigned
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid CA state licensure
• Complete 72-hour orientation program
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
