Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform radiation therapy treatments using linear accelerators with 2:1 therapist to machine ratio
• Operate Elekta Infinity and Elekta Versa HD equipment
• Utilize Mosaiq charting system for treatment planning and documentation
• Use Epic charting system for patient records and documentation
• Conduct CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient positioning and verification
• Perform external beam therapy treatments for adult and geriatric patients
• Deliver IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Conduct stereotactic radiosurgery procedures
• Perform SBRT treatments and DIBH (Deep Inspiration Breath Hold) procedures
• Operate ExacTrac dynamic imaging system for tumor localization
• Conduct chart checks and verify treatment parameters
• Perform CT simulation procedures
• Create and maintain custom molds and shields for patient immobilization
• Implement respiratory gating techniques when required
• Operate HexaPOD patient positioning system
• Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy
• Maintain radiation safety protocols and procedures
• Handle emergency cases and utilize crash cart when necessary
• Operate defibrillator and participate in rapid response teams
• Use patient transfer equipment including Maxi move, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, and hover mat
• Implement isolation precautions when treating patients
• Treat various cancer diagnoses across all anatomical sites
• Handle specialized treatments including prostate cancer with seeds/fiducials
• Provide care for patients in restraints when necessary
• Treat benign conditions such as Graves Disease, Gynecomastia, Heterotopic Bone, and Keloids
• Perform craniospinal and superior vena cava treatments
• Conduct prophylactic treatments as prescribed
• Treat approximately 50 scheduled patients daily across 2 linear accelerators
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Maintain current ARRT(T) certification and state licensure
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Work weekends when willing and need arises
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
