Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Psych to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Oregon City, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a Psychiatric RN for pediatric and adolescent patients ages 6-17 years old
• Manage patient ratios of 4-5 patients during day shifts and 2 RNs for 20 beds during night shifts
• Care for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders
• Administer medications and perform blood glucose monitoring
• Implement physical hold protocols and seclusion protocols/procedures as needed
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and families
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed based on unit requirements
• Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
• Operate special equipment including Hover Jack and Humane Wrap for patient transport to secure rooms
• Maintain current BLS certification and complete Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) training
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Provide supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within comparable specialty setting
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure
• Complete 16-hour orientation program
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
