Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Apple Valley, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for neonatal and infant patients in the NICU setting
• Maintain current BCLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Manage patients with diagnoses including prematurity, feeders and growers, and RDS
• Operate specialized equipment including CPAP, BIPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, warmers, and high frequency ventilators/oscillators
• Perform skilled procedures including central line care, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and ventilator management
• Administer and titrate medications including dopamine
• Assist with procedures such as ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between facilities within the state as assigned
• Provide minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Complete 36-hour orientation program
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
