Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care for pre and post cardiac procedural patients in a 24-bed inpatient unit • Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 during 12-hour night shifts on weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) • Care for patients with diagnoses including Pre/Post Cath, Pre/Post PPM & AICD, Watchmen Procedures, Stress Tests, TIA population, Carotid Stent Patient Management, and NSTEMI patients • Manage arterial and venous sheaths for cardiac procedural patients • Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Renal Dose Dopamine, Lasix Drips, and non-titrating Nitro Drips • Interpret and manage cardiac arrhythmias and dysrhythmias • Perform IV starts and provide telemetry monitoring • Administer blood products and manage central line care • Provide peripheral line care and management • Implement isolation precautions as needed • Manage non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen delivery • Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary • Float to similar units as needed based on census and staffing requirements • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles) • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Work with rapid patient turnover averaging 1.8-2.4 day length of stay • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other support services • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Complete all required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
