Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Evanston, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients with 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
• Care for cardiac patients including CABG/valve patients, ECMO, LVAD, TAVR, and Impella patients
• Manage neurosurgical patients including EVD, post craniotomy, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
• Administer TPA and provide care for patients with deep brain stimulators and anterior/posterior laminectomies
• Care for OB hemorrhagic patients with Bakri balloon and eclamptic postpartum patients
• Operate and monitor ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nitric oxide administration
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and laryngectomy patients
• Perform conscious sedation monitoring and ICP management
• Start IVs and manage pulmonary artery lines
• Monitor telemetry and manage ventilated patients
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float to sister facilities within the health system as required
• Work 3x12 night shifts (1900-0730) including every other weekend
• Maintain current BCLS and ACLS certifications
• Pass EKG test within first day at 84% or higher
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Provide care to adult and geriatric patient populations
• Complete required orientation and ongoing education requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
