Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care for patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Maintain 1:4 patient ratios during day, night, and weekend shifts • Float between emergency department and pediatric units as needed with appropriate support • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications • Obtain and maintain TNCC, EDAP or ENPC certifications as required • Manage arterial lines and interpret arterial blood gases • Administer blood products and continuous IV sedation • Provide central line care and management • Monitor and manage patients on CPAP/BiPAP • Care for patients with cerebrovascular accidents and head injuries • Perform ICP monitoring and neuro-trauma assessments • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias • Administer IV vasopressors and procedural sedation • Provide care for trauma patients including gunshot wounds, ortho trauma, and traumatic brain injuries • Perform patient triage and phlebotomy services • Start and maintain IV access • Care for ventilated patients • Work every other weekend with 6-8 weekend shifts per contract • Complete 12 hours of orientation training • Work with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Float between affiliate hospitals as required • Use facility-provided communication devices when necessary • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Maintain valid California nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
