Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in San Pedro, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ICU nursing care with charge experience required • Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications • Provide direct patient care with 1:2 patient ratios • Utilize Meditech charting system for documentation • Float between ICU and Telemetry units as needed • Float between affiliated hospitals within the network as required • Manage arterial lines and assist with insertion/removal procedures • Provide care for ventilated patients and manage ventilator settings • Administer and manage continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation • Titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips as ordered • Manage central line care and PICC line management • Administer blood products according to protocols • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure • Assist with BiPAP and CPAP management • Provide care using High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) • Implement hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun management • Manage patients with chronic/acute renal failure including CRRT • Provide CVA/acute stroke management as a Primary Stroke Center • Follow IV insulin protocols and glucose management • Perform suctioning procedures (ETT, NT) • Manage surgical wounds with drains and Wound Vac systems • Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays as required • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience • Maintain valid state nursing licensure • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
