Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting with 1:3 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Work 7p to 7a night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule
• Complete 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (Friday and Saturday nights count as weekend shifts)
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Provide care for diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Manage patients with various diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, and respiratory complaints
• Perform central line care and management, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, and care for ventilated patients
• Administer IV vasopressors and manage patients with dysrhythmias
• Conduct triage assessments and maintain isolation precautions as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, self-reported)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Maintain valid compact nursing license
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring solid navy blue scrubs for licensed personnel
• Complete 36 hours of facility orientation
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
