Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients • Perform newborn assessments and provide neonatal care including cord care, thermoregulation, and newborn hypoglycemia management • Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries as needed • Circulate for cesarean sections and provide post-operative recovery care • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain management protocols • Perform sterile vaginal examinations and assess cervical changes • Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers • Conduct Non-Stress Tests (NST) and assist with various obstetrical procedures • Manage IV therapy, central lines, and infusion pumps as required • Provide discharge teaching to parents including newborn care and safety education • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications • Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed to meet staffing requirements • Work every other weekend and be available for 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of comparable specialty experience • Maintain valid state nursing licensure • Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
