Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care services as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit with 1:4 patient ratios • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications • Administer blood products and manage cardiac telemetry monitoring • Provide central line care and management including PICC line management • Manage external CPAP/BIPAP and non-invasive airway management • Administer oxygen and manage feeding tube care • Follow heparin protocols and manage cardiac drips without titration • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias using telemetry monitoring • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care • Administer procedural sedation and start/maintain IV lines • Maintain isolation precautions and infection control protocols • Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 12-hour night shifts and maintain weekend coverage requirements • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Maintain valid California RN licensure • Care for adult and geriatric patient populations • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Complete 24 hours of facility orientation • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Adhere to facility dress code requirements and policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
