Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate CNA - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Seward, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a CNA in long-term care setting
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable, self-reported time)
• Work 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts as assigned (days or nights)
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:20 during day shifts and 1:10 during night shifts
• Work minimum of 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Document patient care using ECS charting system
• Float within scope to meet varying facility needs
• Maintain valid Alaska CNA license or complete application process within 72 hours of contract signing
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 6 months of LTC employment within last 3 years
• Complete Hepatitis B vaccination or obtain medical exemption
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
• Perform basic CNA skills including vital signs, patient transfers, bathing, feeding assistance, and incontinence care
• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including Alzheimer's, dementia, TBI, and psychological behaviors
• Operate medical equipment including Skylifts, Hoyers, and vital sign machines
• Report changes in patient condition to supervising staff
• Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Assist with ambulation, turning, repositioning, and skin care
• Complete glucose point of care testing and pulse oximetry
• Maintain professional standards and comply with all facility policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
