Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Seward, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services as an LPN in long-term care setting
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Utilize ECS charting system for documentation
• Float within facility and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Maintain valid Alaska state LPN license
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable LTC specialty/setting
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
• Perform patient care duties including blood glucose monitoring, medication administration, feeding tube care, foley catheter insertion, vital sign monitoring, and wound care
• Manage patient ratios of 1:20
• Administer medications via oral, IM, and subcutaneous routes
• Provide care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, and other cognitive/physical impairments
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD
• Perform specialized procedures including accuchecks, PEG tube feedings, IV hydration, phlebotomy, peritoneal dialysis, and respiratory treatments
• Utilize facility equipment including lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, and EKG equipment
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
• Maintain professional standards and comply with facility policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
