Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Outpatient Clinic to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in outpatient clinic setting for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Maintain current BLS certification and COHNS certification
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Conduct health screenings and fit testing procedures
• Administer immunizations including influenza vaccines via intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes
• Perform TB skin testing and vision testing
• Provide telephone triage and follow-up phone calls to patients
• Conduct patient teaching and health education
• Complete authorization forms and disability forms
• Manage medication refills and pharmacy communications
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals
• Perform vital signs assessment including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse
• Administer nebulizer treatments and operate AED equipment
• Handle contact tracing and communicable disease exposure protocols
• Complete workman's compensation and injury reporting documentation
• Maintain proper biohazard waste disposal and universal precautions
• Float between sister facilities including Redwood Memorial twice per month
• Work 5x8 hour weekday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with possible schedule adjustments during flu season
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable time)
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Maintain valid state nursing license
• Complete CAPR training and Portacount equipment training
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Self-report time spent on training modules through Workramp transcripts
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
