Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care for patients • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Provide care for high-risk obstetrical patients and culturally diverse population • Circulate on cesarean sections and assist with surgical procedures • Perform comprehensive newborn assessments and provide neonatal care • Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin, and epidural anesthesia management • Conduct sterile vaginal exams and monitor fetal heart rate patterns • Provide postpartum care including fundus assessment and breastfeeding support • Perform couplet care for mother and baby • Maintain central and peripheral IV lines • Provide patient and family education including discharge teaching • Triage obstetrical patients according to protocols • Monitor and interpret telemetry and fetal monitoring equipment • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Maintain valid state nursing license • Complete required compliance documentation and certifications • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Perform duties using facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
