Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Seward, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in long-term care setting with 1:20 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS certification and valid Alaska LPN license
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (approximately 16 hours, non-billable)
• Work 4x12 hour shifts (either days 07:00-19:00 or nights 19:00-07:00)
• Float within facility and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Utilize ECS charting system for patient documentation
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and accuchecks
• Manage implanted glucose sensors
• Provide PEG tube (G-tube) feedings
• Assist with Duopa pumps
• Administer IV hydration as needed
• Perform phlebotomy and lab draws
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only)
• Administer respiratory treatments including nebulizers
• Provide wound care
• Care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, plegics, and cognitive/physical impairments
• Perform patient admissions, ambulation, and bathing assistance
• Administer medications (oral, IM, subcutaneous)
• Manage feeding tubes and provide mouth care
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and face mask
• Maintain isolation precautions as required
• Monitor vital signs and communicate patient status changes to RN/MD
• Operate facility equipment including lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, and EKG machines
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of LTC experience
• Complete Hepatitis B vaccination or obtain medical exemption
• Self-report time spent on training modules using Workramp transcripts
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
