Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Seward, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in long-term care setting with 1:20 patient ratios
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, plegics, and cognitive/physical impairments
• Perform patient admissions, ambulation assistance, and various bathing methods
• Monitor blood glucose levels and manage implanted glucose sensors
• Administer medications via oral, IM, SQ, and subcutaneous routes
• Provide feeding tube care and management including PEG tube feedings
• Insert and manage Foley catheters for both male and female patients
• Manage NG tubes and G-tubes as needed
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and face masks
• Perform wound care and dressing changes
• Conduct phlebotomy and lab draws
• Provide respiratory treatments including nebulizer administration
• Manage IV hydration on PRN basis
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only)
• Operate Duopa pumps and monitor patients with these devices
• Monitor vital signs and communicate patient status changes to RN/MD
• Administer eye drops, ear drops, and provide mouth care
• Maintain isolation precautions as required
• Utilize ECS charting system for documentation
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Work 4x12 hour shifts with variable day/night scheduling
• Operate special equipment including lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, Sara Steady, pacemaker transmitters, and EKGs
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current BLS certification and valid Alaska LPN license
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of LTC experience
• Comply with facility policies including dress code and communication device usage
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
