Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert precepting skills and mentoring to new staff • Deliver comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care to low and high-risk patients • Care for antepartum patients with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Manage labor patients with multiple system disorders including hypertension and diabetes • Circulate and recover cesarean sections • Perform postpartum D&C procedures • Float to mother/baby unit as required • Provide newborn care and implement baby-friendly practices • Conduct non-stress tests • Set up delivery tables • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Provide telemetry interpretation services • Complete 24 hours of orientation training • Work with patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Manage patient ratios appropriate for labor and delivery setting • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays as required • Float between affiliate hospitals when necessary • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within specialty setting • Maintain valid state nursing license • Complete background check and compliance documentation • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
