Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties in outpatient and community hospital settings • Provide surgical support for orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures • Assist with trauma cases and emergency surgical procedures • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic equipment, and arthroscope equipment • Scrub in for surgical cases and maintain sterile field • Set up and break down case carts and crash carts as needed • Work variable shift start times (7am, 9am, 11am, 3pm) as assigned • Participate in on-call coverage one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend • Respond to on-call within 20 minutes when required • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 3 weekends per schedule as required • Complete required orientation hours and ongoing training modules • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Comply with universal protocol and time-out procedures • Maintain aseptic technique and follow infection control protocols • Assist with robotic surgical procedures using da Vinci Xi system • Support various surgical specialties including general, GU, GYN, and trauma cases • Complete pre-start and annual training modules within specified timeframes • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment • Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
